If you manage a subreddit, you may need to remove a moderator or an approved user at some point. This could be due to factors such as inactivity, rule violations, or other concerns. Fortunately, Reddit offers a straightforward process for handling these situations. In this post, I will walk you through the steps to successfully remove a moderator or an approved user from your subreddit.
Follow these steps if you are the subreddit owner or a moderator with full permissions:
- Log in to Reddit.
- In the left sidebar, under “Moderation” select your subreddit.
- Click on “Mod Tools” in the top-right corner (as shown below in the figure).

- In the left sidebar, under Overview, click on “Mods and Members” (as shown below in the figure).

- Find the moderator or approved user you want to remove.
- Move your cursor near “Joined” (for moderators) or “Date Added” (for approved users).
- A small trash bin icon will appear—click on it to remove the moderator or approved user.
Please leave a comment if you face any issues with these steps.
