When you add a Gallery block to your WordPress blog post, the number of columns can vary between 1 and 3, depending on the theme. However, using too many columns can cause your images to appear very small on mobile devices. Therefore, it’s often a good idea to set the number of columns for the Gallery block to 2. In this post, I will show you step-by-step how to set the number of columns to 2.
Here are the steps:
- Open the post or page where you want to add or edit the gallery.
- Click the “+” button and search for “Gallery.” Select the Gallery block.
- Upload new images or select images from the media library.
- In the right-hand block settings panel, find the “Columns” option as shown in the following figure.
- If you do not see the above block on the right-hand side, click on the first image to get the toolbar back and then click on the gallery icon as shown in the following figure:
- Adjust the slider to 2 or manually enter 2.
- Click “Publish” or “Update” to save your changes.
By following these steps, you can set the Gallery block to display images in two columns, ensuring a better viewing experience on mobile devices.
