[Quiz] Math word problems with answers on four mathematical operations (Set 2)

Welcome to Math Quiz number 18. These are grade 3 and 4 word problems comprising the addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication of integers. Some of the questions test basic equation solving skills. Most of the questions have a single correct answer. But you must check all options before submitting. If you don’t select all options, your answer will be wrong. ‘c’ with the number in some questions represents your local currency e.g. USD, INR, Euro, etc. Please do not use any online tool for the answers. The distance between place A and place B is 729 miles. If a cheetah runs at 27 miles per hour, how many hours will it take to reach place B from place A?

A lion runs at 40 miles per hour, and a horse runs at 41 miles per hour. If they participate in an animal race, who will win the race?

A train runs at 24 kilometers per 30 minutes. Suppose the distance between New Mexico and California is 960 kilometers, and the train starts from New Mexico. How many hours will the train take to reach California?

Peter is running a marathon. He started at 5:30 AM and reached the final destination at 2:30 AM. How many hours did he take to finish the race?

The price of an apple is 5c, and the price of an orange is 10c. How many apples can you purchase at the cost of 6 oranges?

In a village, there are 252 more girls than boys. If the number of girls is 1175, what is the total number of girls and boys in the village?

If Trilce gives 12 mangoes to Avi, Avi gives 14 grapes to Trilce. If Trilce needs 70 grapes from Avi, how many mangoes does Trilce need to give Avi?

In a school, there are 35 fewer girls than boys. If the number of girls is 234, what is the total number of boys and girls in the school?

Avi sold 216 old toys and purchased 124 new toys. Now he has 125 toys. How many toys did he have initially?

10. 
The price of 12 oranges is 36c, and the price of 32 bananas is 64c. How much money will you need if you buy 24 oranges and 48 bananas?
